Poolside Area, El Encanto Hotel
The client engaged Ezequiel Farca to design the common areas of the Aragones-designed hotel building located in one of the most newest and important parts of Acapulco. The hotel, which is located adjacent a natural preserve, has amazing panoramic views of Acapulco and its tropical hillsides. The 44-room facility consists of two buildings with architecture that opens to the ocean. Ezequiel Farca developed a concept for the terraces, restaurant and bar that includes custom-designed sofas, chairs, benches side tables and dining tables. The interior design integrates smoothly with the architecture and the natural environment, through a series of simple forms and a clean material palette. At night the hotel takes on a whole different ambiance, illuminated playfully in vibrant color. Classic dining chairs are smoothly shaped in tropical machiche wood, matching the simple rectangular table bases topped by arabescato marble. Orthogonal shaped sofas are upholstered in durable Sunbrella® fabric to ensure their beauty through many seasons of exposure to the intense ocean air. Neutral grays and white cushions cleanly contrast the tropical flora and deep blue of the pool. Gray lounge chairs are shielded from the intense sun by loose white fabric canopies. Also at the pool, different types of fabric canopies with aluminum structures divide private rest areas. The tents integrate the architecture via cutout windows and rectangle forms.
